Clinical Compendium and Gap Analysis - Pain Management

Insight

One of the fastest growing medical device companies invested significantly in multiple technology platforms that relied on spinal cord stimulation (SCS) to treat a myriad of pain syndromes. Despite growing experience with SCS, there remained significant questions about efficacy. In order to increase provider awareness of the clinical evidence supporting the use of spinal cord stimulation for the treatment of failed back surgery syndrome, The Aequitas Group was enlisted to develop a clinical compendium and gap analysis report.

Strategy

The Aequitas Group conducted a systematic literature review. The goal was to find data in support of spinal cord stimulation regarding: side effects, adverse outcomes, costs, enhanced functional abilities and psychological well-being. The Aequitas Group used these results to develop a clinical and economic compendium.

Execution

The client developed the compendium into a tool used by field-based medical liaisons and sales personnel in their efforts to communicate the value messages and to support their clinical and economic evidence.
